Reiki for beginners - the first steps in applying an ancient therapy to heal the body and soul

Reiki is an alt medical technique that activates the natural mechanisms of emotional and physical healing through the channeling of universal energy, transmitted by gentle touch with the palms.

The name Reiki comes from Rei (universe) and ki or chi, which means vital energy, and is a system used to restore balance and harmonize all dimensions of being: body, mind, emotions and spirit. This form of alternative medicine has its origins in Japan and was developed in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui.

The Reiki therapist is an intermediary between the universal energy he accesses and the beneficiary of this energy, and this therapist is a master or a person who is initiated in this technique given by a master, on grades I and II. The higher the degree of initiation, the stronger the energy transmitted to the patient.

Remember that the techniques can be learned by anyone, they have nothing miraculous or mystical, they are rather an innate human reaction, which seeks to relieve pain.

How Reiki healing occurs

According to Mikao Usui’s theory, everything that exists in the Universe is a manifestation of energy, which vibrates in accordance with the length and frequency of the surrounding energy waves.

Inside the body, vital energy flows through the meridians and when these pathways are blocked, for example due to stress or emotional blockages, then diseases occur. This is where Reiki intervenes, by harmonizing the inner circuit.

How the therapy works

During the treatment, the patient lies on the massage bed and the therapist moves his palms over his body at different points (those corresponding to the centers of force). Reiki can be done to others, but also in the form of self-treatment.

Interestingly, Reiki can be transmitted remotely, with the same effects, and this is due to the electro-magnetic field of each person, who interacts through the intention of Reiki.

Another aspect to consider is that Reiki has no side effects.

Reiki mantras

The founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, instituted some mantras of great common sense and with beneficial effect for everyone:

I won’t be angry today.

I won’t worry today.

Today I will be grateful for all the blessings in my life.

Today I will rely on honesty and integrity.

Today I will be good to all the creatures of the earth.

Tell yourself these things every day and believe in what you say, whether or not you resort to alternative healing therapies, and you will notice how your emotional well-being improves significantly.
