Time management for busy women

If you have the feeling that time is slipping through your fingers, the day has fewer hours and you fail to check, at the end of it, everything you set out to do in the morning, there is a solution: better time management.

Often, poor time management starts from the unrealistic expectations we have of ourselves. We want to do as much as possible in a very short time and we do not take into account that we also need the coffee break or, especially, the lunch break. It is not easy to manage time if you have a full time job and other activities besides, but with a well-developed schedule it is possible to cope honorably, at the end of the day, with all your tasks.

Start the day relaxing!

You only get hurt if you are always worried and you have the feeling that whatever you do, at the end of the day it will be a fiasco. So, a good idea would be to start the morning with an energizing shower, in which to wrap yourself in your favorite aromas, and, with a big smile and a big coffee next to it, you are ready to face a hard day at work!

Make a list of priorities!

If you are very bad with time, do not waste it on activities that support procrastination! At the beginning of the day or week, make a list of priorities, eliminate from the program all that is not urgent and allocate time and energy to really important tasks. If you have employees, such a plan is all the more useful. Eliminate stressors by effectively performing the tasks you have and you will no longer focus on unimportant tasks. By drawing up a battle plan for you and your team, everyone will know what to do, without confusion, downtime and failures along the way!

Set a time limit for each planned activity

Of course, everything may not work out, but it is useful to set at least an estimated duration for each activity of the day, such as business or personal meetings, time spent with friends, gym time, shopping, etc. This way you will avoid wasting time and postponing your activities by consuming the time reserved for something else.

Use a calendar and an organizer

There are many apps very useful for better management of daily, weekly or monthly tasks. You can use them on your laptop/phone, with dates, hours, deadlines, deadlines, detailed information and you can even set alarms, so that you are notified that you have something to do.

Learn to say "NO!"

Accept your limits, do not engage in tasks that overwhelm you, do not get involved in activities that eat away your family time or the time for yourself and say a polite NO to your boss or colleagues who ask you to do something other than you planned. This works also for personal life: don’t do anything just to be polite, your time is important!

To avoid burn-out, agree with the team the schedule in which you will be available, what are the working hours, when the breaks take place and how long you need to provide feedback.

Delimit personal space from work - if you don’t take this into account, you’ll end up feeling like you live at work or work where you sleep, eat and spend time with your family.
